In just five months we arranged their amazing Ravello wedding day, which featured a religious wedding ceremony at the charming Santa Maria a Gradillo church, an enchanting evening reception of dinner and dancing at the magical Villa Cimbrone and an after party at the wonderful Palazzo della Marra.
Marcella and Richard’s dream day was immortalised with great beauty and flair by our fabulous Ravello wedding photographer, Pasquale Andreotti - as these photographs attest - and by our fantastic Ravello wedding videographer, Alberto D’Aria.
The evening before their wedding, Marcella and Richard hosted a pre-wedding welcome dinner in Ravello at the wonderful and authentic Da Salvatore restaurant, where friends both old and new admired the views while they delighted over the delicious cuisine.
On the morning of the wedding, groom Richard and his best man got ready together in one of Villa Cimbrone’s elegant accommodations. Bride Marcella was accompanied by her close family members during her wedding day bridal preparations at the Hotel Villa Fraulo.
Marcella wore a stunning strapless bridal gown with a slit neckline and a beautiful ballgown skirt, accompanied by a delicate tulle off-the-shoulder wrap.
Our hair stylist Andrea Serretiello created an elegant bridal up-do, prettily interwoven with baby’s breath and finished to perfection with Marcella’s stylish, simple long veil.
The bride walked through the centre of Ravello on the arm of her proud father to the church where the groom and the couple’s guests eagerly awaited them. Father and daughter entered the church along a white aisle carpet scattered with white rose petals.
We organised for Marcella and Richard to be married in a Catholic wedding ceremony in Ravello, celebrated by Father Marcus and attended by 100 guests who travelled from Italy, the UK and across the globe.
The delightful stone church of Santa Maria a Gradillo was decorated in a delicate blend of foliage and white and pastel pink blooms by the talented floral design team at Malafronte Fiori, who also created the spectacular bridal bouquet, bridesmaids’ bouquets and buttonholes for the groom and his attendants. Music during the wedding ceremony was courtesy of our graceful string trio, accompanied vocally, during one piece, by a member of the wedding party.
At the end of the ceremony we invited guests to the church entrance where they waited for the exit of the bride and groom to shower them with rice, as tradition demands!
After the joyous congratulations of their guests, the bride and groom slipped away to Villa Cimbrone to capture bride and groom portrait photographs together around the venue’s celebrated gardens, tea room and crypt.
Meanwhile, guests strolled up through the winding Ravello pathways to Villa Cimbrone where they awaited the bride and groom on the breathtaking Infinity Terrace, decorated with Roman statues and boasting incredible views across the coastline and sea.
A delicious array of aperitifs was served on the manicured lawns of the garden of two fountains, accompanied by the melodious tones of our jazz band. Guests consulted the adorable table plan featuring stylish prints suspended on satin ribbons and decorated with flowers, which hung from the branches of one of the garden’s ancient olive trees, before being invited to be seated for the wedding banquet.
Guests dined at round tables elegantly decorated with the prettiest pastel floral centerpieces and glass candelabras, while the bride and groom shared a romantic table for the two!
As evening faded into night, fairy lights danced dreamily in the trees as candles flickered from the glass spheres suspended in their branches against the enchanting nighttime backdrop of the fairytale villa, atmospherically accented by light. The soft sounds of a piano further added to the romantic ambience.
Post-dinner wedding speeches were followed by the cutting of the stylish three-tier wedding cake, decorated with olive leaves and fresh blooms in the wedding’s colour palette of white and pastel pink.
Guests enjoyed a slice of the wedding cake and sampled the selection of delicacies from the delicious buffet of cakes and pastries.
The bride and groom stepped onto the specially-created wooden dance floor which we had organised, to perform their first dance. Then guests couldn’t resist hitting the dance floor to enjoy the amazing selection of sounds provided by talented DJ Eddie Warner.
After midnight the couple led their guests down to Ravello’s main square for their Ravello wedding after party at Palazzo della Marra for further fun and laughter into the early hours.
Marcella and Richard were enchanted by the unforgettable Ravello wedding day that Ravello Events created for them, especially in such a short time. We love to create completely original, stylish, impeccable and exceptional events and making our brides and grooms’ Ravello and Amalfi Coast wedding dreams come true! On this occasion the timescale was challenging but we love a challenge and the results were outstanding.
We are so proud of this wedding and the joy it brought to Marcella and Richard. They have become part of our lives and part of our Ravello Events family and we were ecstatic to hear that their family (and so our family) has grown a little bigger with the birth of their first child, a daughter, earlier this month. All of our love and auguri to a very special family and we cannot wait to meet the newest member!
