Catholic Wedding
in Amalfi
In Italy the Catholic marriage rite is also valid to full legal effect. Therefore, your Catholic wedding ceremony will be valid both in Italy and abroad.
If you have already been married in a civil ceremony, we can organise a Catholic ceremony without civil effect, on provision of the requisite documentation.
Catholic wedding ceremonies in Amalfi Cathedral are celebrated by the parish priest of Amalfi. For foreign weddings, the ceremony is translated by an interpreter.
It is possible, on request, to decorate your chosen Catholic church in Amalfi with beautiful floral arrangements and decorative elements to make your ceremony even more personal and romantic.
We recommend classical music during your ceremony to add an extra touch of magic and elegance to your Amalfi Coast Catholic wedding ceremony in Amalfi.
The Church in Amalfi
Duomo di Amalfi
The Cathedral, or Duomo, which sits high above the main square in Amalfi, atop a steep stone staircase, is the most striking and imposing testimony to the ancient and glorious Republic of Amalfi.
The Cathedral, dedicated to Saint Andrew - Sant’Andrea - was originally built in the 9th century and later altered and restored many times. The polychromatic façade in Arabian-Norman style, was re-built to replicate the original 13th century form.
